Education Christopher Lawrence-Jones was educated at Sherborne School, Dorset. He attended Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, where he received his M.A. in 1964, and continued medical training at St. Thomas’s Hospital Medical School, London, earning the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.) and Bachelor of Surgery (B.Chir.).

Career Lawrence-Jones began his career in medical practice before specializing in industrial and occupational medicine. He served as medical advisor to British Petroleum and subsequently became chief medical officer for Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) Group, directing international health and safety programs for industrial operations across Europe and the Commonwealth.

He was appointed Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (F.F.O.M.) in 1987 and later Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London (F.R.C.P.) in 1991. He served as president of the Occupational Medicine Section of the Royal Society of Medicine and as chairman of Medichem, an international association devoted to occupational health in chemical industries.

Titles and Distinctions He succeeded his father on 6 September 1969 as 6th Baronet Lawrence-Jones of Cranmer Hall, Norfolk, a title created in 1831 for Sir John Thomas Jones, K.C.B., distinguished military engineer and confidant of the Duke of Wellington.
