Lawrence, William (1823–1898)
William Lawrence was born in Tasmania. He inherited the family estate Formosa when his brother died, but never lived there. He travelled extensively in Europe during 1851–1855. He married Mary Isabella Lannon in St. John’s Church, Cork, Ireland in 1861. William seems to have settled at his estate Verulam in Southland, New Zealand. In 1884 this advertisement appeared:
