Early Life Frederick Francis “Freddy” Alexandre Jr. was born in 1920, the son of Frederick Francis Alexandre and Regina Mathilde Saportas. He was very active in the young set in socialite New York.

Military Service Before the United States entered World War II, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force to train as a pilot. During the war he served as an American lieutenant flying with the Royal Air Force. On January 15, 1945, while flying a Mosquito during the raid on Leirvik, his aircraft went down in the North Sea. His body was not recovered.

Commemoration He is memorialized at the American Cemetery in Cambridge, England, where he was honored on Remembrance Day 2014.
